Introducing Project Triskelion (Points Of The Compass)
Hello everyone! It’s with immense gratitude and excitement that I present to you my debut album, *”Project Triskelion (Points Of The Compass).”* Embarking on this musical voyage has been a dream decades in the making, and I’m eager to share it with you all.
Discovering the Rhythm Within
Even before my fingers strummed the strings of a bass, my heart was attuned to the rhythm of music. As a child, an old-school headphone set and a directive to “point to where you like what you hear” introduced me to the magic of sound. My instant affinity for the bass notes, seemingly painted in color thanks to my experience with Synesthesia, marked the beginning of my musical journey.
Diverse Training and Musical Roots
From the classical cadences of a 3/4 full upright bass to the contemporary beats of the electric fretless, my musical evolution has been both rich and rewarding. Whether it’s the legacy of my jazz and classical training or the versatility of switching between fretted and fretless basses, each note echoes a piece of my history.
The Influence of Giants
Having a father in the music industry meant growing up amidst a medley of musical legends. I was introduced to the genius of maestros such as John Williams, Quincy Jones, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, and Prince Rogers Nelson, to name just a few. Their iconic compositions not only inspire but teach, if one only listens closely.
Painting Stories Through Sound and Color
Music, in my eyes, should narrate tales. While some compositions resonate with distinct melodies, others paint vivid tapestries for the mind to traverse. As a composer, my predilection for the tone poem style stems from this belief. Through it, I aim to fuse music and story, creating a harmonious blend that ignites the listener’s imagination.
Project Triskelion – A Universal Symphony
Drawing from myriad musical influences, Project Triskelion embodies the universality of music. Its subtitle, Points Of The Compass, symbolizes the boundless horizons of musical genres and styles. While some might categorize it as New Age – a genre I deeply adore – I like to think of it as a soundtrack for an uncharted cinematic experience.
